About Trip

The Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek takes you through the  Solukhumbu region, home of the intrepid Sherpas renowned for their mountaineering skills, unsurpassable levels of service, and high altitude living. To experience the adventure and thrill of trekking into the heartland of some of the highest mountains on our planet, including the mighty Mount Everest  (8848m)—known in Nepal as Sagarmatha—may seem like an impossible dream for most people, but by providing advice and support from pre-trek days through to the very end of the great adventure itself, Search Treks & Expedition can make your dream come true.

Several variations of the basic EBC trek are possible, by extending the route, lengthening the number of days and/or increasing the difficulty level, but for most people the adventure begins with the exciting flight to Lukla, sometimes called the most dangerous airport in the world due to its short, sloping runway and difficult location. The basic EBC route takes you through Phakding to the bustling and vibrant Namche Bazaar, a marketplace for both locals and trekkers alike where you can acclimatize and visit nearby villages like Khumjung and Khunde as well as marvel at the vista from the Everest View Hotel.

As the trail wends its way higher and deeper into the Khumbu Valley, so the mountain views grow more spectacular: Ama Dablam—sometimes known as the Matterhorn of Nepal—dominates the trail, with tantalizing glimpses of distant Lhotse, Nuptse and Everest if you are lucky. The route passes through Tengboche, a very spiritual settlement with a beautiful ‘gompa’ or Tibetan monastery, then on to Dingboche, over the Dukhla Pass with its moving memorials to those who have lost their lives on Everest, then finally up to Lobuche, situated alongside the moraine of the infamous Khumbu Glacier. From there you are within reach of your prime goals: Everest Base Camp itself and Kalapathar, with its stunning sunrise vistas. Time to pause, pinch yourself to make sure you are not dreaming, take photos, then return by almost the same route but with a different feeling in your heart… a dream come true, a goal achieved, a lifetime experience to treasure forever

Search Treks & Expedition is waiting to welcome you and guide you on this and other expanded Everest routes, with experience, reliability and safety at all times.
